Support at Home Classifications

Support at Home tailored to your needs

Under the Support at Home program, government funding is provided according to eight funding classifications (ranging from $10,000 per year – $78,000 per year), each representing a different level of support need. Your classification is determined through a personalised assessment and helps define the amount of funding available to you.

While your services are designed around your individual goals and preferences, the level of funding you receive is based on the classification assigned through your assessment.

Support at Home Contributions

Contributing to Your Support at Home Costs

Under the Support at Home program, you may need to pay part of your service costs depending on your income and the type of service you receive — the government covers the rest.

  • Clinical Support: No payment (e.g. nursing, medication management)

  • Independence Services: Moderate payment (e.g. personal care, transport, social support)

  • Everyday Living Services: Higher payment (e.g. shopping, domestic assistance, gardening)

Payments by financial situation:

  • Full Age Pensioners: Lowest contribution

  • Part Pensioners / Seniors Health Card holders: Moderate contribution

  • Self-Funded Retirees: Highest contribution

Check the government website to find your exact contribution.
